Jamie focuses on the interplay of light over the rugged terrain of mountains and valleys where mist diffuses and filters light, creating soft transitions and subtle colour shifts.

Jamie Stewart specialises in dramatic New Zealand Landscapes. Especially regions of Fiordland and Central Otago high country. He frequently employs many glazes (layers of oil paint) to build up depth, atmospherics and light. Sometimes he can apply up to 40 layers to achieve the desired effect.
