Collection: Steve Simmers

Steve Simmers is a full-time carver based in Napier, New Zealand. 
In addition to selling his hand-carved pieces, he teaches carving, particularly beginner classes.  He carves pendants and earrings from genuine New Zealand/Aotearoa Pounamu. His one-off pieces vary in style and tradition, all hand-finished, showing variation of colour, polish, and texture - depending on the natural properties of the Pounamu.
His works are found in galleries throughout both the South Island and the North Island.  Every one of Steve's pieces are one-off and all unique with their very own story, reflecting Steve's deep understanding of his craft and the cultural significance of Pounamu.
